The good thing about this application is that it is written specially for the OS X, which makes it an optimized application that supports all the features that a good Mac computer can provide you. The GameBoy and GameBoy Advance emulations provided by this application are quite appreciable. Moreover, it is compatible with Boycott Advance as well, which makes it an even better choice.

The application is very easy to install and uses merely 2.1 MB of space. It works quite well on the old Macs as well. Even if you are using an Intel Mac that was running on Lion OS, you will be able to play the games with ease. However, with the new Macs it is known to crash with the newer updates. Moreover, there could be some problems related to the display of the application as well. Sometimes, the display may not fit the screen correctly and sometimes it just doesn’t display at all. Still, it is one of the most comprehensive applications that can be used by the GameBoy fans.

There have been many updates to this application which have tried to resolve a few issues with it. For example, the crashing bug because of which the game used to crash in full screen mode has been fixed now. The preferences layout has also been revamped. Additionally, if you have a Windows PC version of this application, it would sync with that as well. Though it is not a very complicated application, the beginners would need to learn emulation and its basics before they turn to Mac Boy Advanced. Overall, it is a great application and there are some games that can only be played on Mac Boy Advanced.
